Deep thoughts by Becky Wells....
As I scroll through different social media sites, it's hard not to notice the great polarity that is pulsating in our world.
Different ends of the spectrum screaming at the top of their lungs or laptops, striving to prove that what they believe is true and influence or change those minds that believe something completely different.
The thing is... what is the truth? Have you ever really asked yourself that question?
Why is YOUR truth the truth and not someone else’s?
Our beliefs, or really what we deem to be “truth”, is merely a compilation of our filters, conditions, experiences, traumas, and belief-systems we’ve picked up throughout our entire lives.
We pick them up from our culture, family, friends, peers, media, society, and the ALL the information we chose to absorb and digest.
This leads us to see that EVERYONE has their own version of truth, their unique bio-individual version of their truth.
How can we truly say, "You are wrong and I am right!"?
Why do we care so much when other’s put our truth into question and declare that their truth is really the truth?
Personally, I know that when someone questions one of my strongly held beliefs, it makes me feel really mad... angry and sometimes volatile!
My madness, anger, and volatility are simply messages. These messengers kindly show me that I feel insecure about that belief.
I'm attached to that belief.
That belief is part of my identity.
It makes up the very fabric or who I believe I am.
BUT, what if I listened to these messengers and instead became CURIOUS about that belief and the madness stirred up when it comes into question.
Could I look within myself, instead of projecting my anger onto other people, who simply are reflecting my belief-identify-crisis straight back to me?
If you do this enough, and actually participate in the work of curiosity and detachment, it is easy to come to one conclusion... there is no ONE truth.
Could you imagine a world that allowed people to be, live, and believe their own bio-individual truth? Could you imagine?
A world that collectively created space and lived in a vast consciousness where there was room for all beliefs to be?
Lastly, I want to share 7 things I’ve discovered in this endless curiosity about "the truth":
We are beautiful and powerful story tellers. How many stories do you tell yourself every day? I challenge you to do the work. Dive in. This will breed compassion, tolerance, and a deep knowing that we are ALL connected.
It’s time to raise the vibration of our collective consciousness by waking the fuck up and change the way we live in our world. We won't do this by preaching our truth onto deaf ears. We do it by living it, and questioning it often!
Are you willing to do the work?
Thanks for popping by.
I love you,
